Something useful to take away

Your Security Coverage Plan.

For commercial premises, we call this your CCTV Coverage & Risk Report. Both turn the survey into clear recommendations you can review.

  • Priority areas, possible blind spots and recommended camera positions
  • Required field of view, image detail and night-time requirements
  • Camera specifications, recording storage and retention recommendations
  • Cable routes, recorder/router position and remote viewing needs
  • Installation approach and a quotation for the proposed scope
What happens next

Your decision.
In your own time.

Send your postcode and property details. We’ll contact you to arrange the survey. After the visit, review your coverage plan and installation options before making a decision.

The assessment focuses on CCTV coverage and practical installation. It is not a certification of security or a guarantee against crime.

Is the CCTV survey really free?

Yes. The Security & Blind Spot Survey and Commercial CCTV Risk Assessment are free for properties in the Scottish Borders. We confirm the property details and visit arrangements before booking. There is no obligation to buy an installation.

What will I receive?

For a home, you receive a Security Coverage Plan. For a business, you receive a CCTV Coverage & Risk Report. These set out the recommended views and camera positions, relevant blind spots, night-time needs, equipment and storage recommendations, installation considerations and a quotation.

Do I have to choose Borders CCTV afterwards?

No. You can keep the recommendations and decide in your own time. Requesting or attending a survey does not commit you to an installation.

Can you review the CCTV I already have?

Yes. Tell us what is working, what is not, and what you need to see. We assess the existing equipment and explain whether repositioning, configuration or an upgrade would help. Repairs are quoted separately.

How long will the survey take?

It depends on the size and complexity of the property. We agree a suitable appointment and allow time to understand the areas you want covered. Larger business sites and rural properties may need a longer visit.

Can you guarantee there will be no blind spots?

We agree the priority views and explain any remaining limitations before installation. Coverage depends on the property, obstructions, lighting and equipment. The aim is useful coverage of the agreed areas, rather than a promise to see everything or prevent every incident.
